WHY TURKEY
Turkey
is a country rich in history,
culture, civilizations, landscapes, architecture and more. From busy cities to small villages, from beaches to
ski slopes, from modern day to history, you can be sure to find it
here.
Turkey’s
history is a witness to the passage of great civilisations and a
seat of all conquering empires – Pagan, Christian and then
Islamic.
Turkey
is a country with a population of 65.5 million people, who are
known for there great hospitality, and love of tourists. They are
hardworking and sincere people who love nothing more than to share
a meal with family and friends.
Over
the years, Turkey has grown with the Western world, and the old
image of Turkey is changing. With a combination of modern resorts
and cities, surrounded by ancient history, the tourist is often
left longing for no more.
Famous
for it’s Gold, Leather and Carpets to name but a few, you can be
garuanteed to get that bargain of a lifetime with some old
fashioned haggling.
Turkish
Cuisine is excellent. A wide selection of Eastern food, that makes
the tastebuds go crazy. Choose from a selction of meze (hors
d’oeuvres) delicately prepared, and as the Turks would say ‘
to satisfy your eyes first and then your belly’, and a variety
of main courses from vegetarian, fish, meat, pastas, pizzas and
more. The children will also love the food and if they don’t,
well there’s always McDonalds, Burger King and Kentucky.
Like
everything in Turkey, the alcohol is cheap too, and with Turkey
not being in the European Union, you can take home a few duty free
memories!
Turkey
is a sunworshippers’ paradise. Temperatures start from
20oC
in May and soar right up to 40-45oC in August. But with cooling
clear blue seas, one usually finds it not to difficult to cope
with.
