The
Open Water course is the first level of PADI Diver certification.
This
course is designed to train the complete beginner to a standard
where they are qualified to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum
depth of 18 meters. As a scuba diver, you will come to know the
beauty of the underwater world and experience unique sensations like
breathing underwater for the first time and the feeling of floating
weightless like an astronaut in space.
This
course is divided into three segments: Academic training,
Confined-water training and Open-water training. Academic training
gives you the basic principles and knowledge you need for safe and
enjoyable diving. Confined water-training will teach you the basic
skills of diving. The Open-water training allows you to demonstrate
your mastery of these skills and practice them in a typical diving
situation. These segments will be taught to you in five modules. For
each module there are specific objectives and skill performance
requirements that need to be learnt and completed before
participating in the next level. This ensures that you have
understood and learnt each section thoroughly, allowing you to
repeat modules as needed. On successfully completing the Open Water
course you will receive a certification card (similar to a credit
card), with your photo on it, which
will be sent to your home address.
The
Open Water Diver course is only the beginning of what diving has to
offer you. We guarantee that you will want to continue your diving
education and enjoy pleasures such as underwater photography, deep diving and night diving.
Don’t
forget the next step is the Advanced Open Water Course! Why not do
them both together and save time, money and unhappiness when you
discover just how much deeper you can go!
