Marmaris
is situated in a picturesque bay on the Aegean coastline,
surrounded by rugged pine clad mountains. Famous for it’s
greenery, you will see nothing but palm trees, olive trees, orange
trees, and colours from beautiful flowers such as bougainvillea
sprouting out wherever you look. The seafront, edged with a sand
and shingle beach, runs
from Marmaris right through to Ýçmeler Bay which is 8Km
away. Lined with sunbeds for hire, and a wide selection of
watersports to keep you busy.
Along
the whole promenade, you will find restaurants, bars, kareoke and
discos to suit everyone’s taste. The nightlife is abundant, and
if your fed up with the promenade try Bar Street – exactly that
– to enjoy live bands or Turkish music. As most bars and
restuarants are open air or have a garden area, it’s suitable
for the whole family to have a sing and dance. But remember, real
clubbing doesn’t start till 10.00PM here, so don’t go home
before it’s all started.
For
the shop-aholic, you won’t need to venture out of Marmaris. With
the permanent bazaar, local Friday market and the modern
supermarkets, you’ll find everything your looking for on the
doorstep.
A
visit to the Hamams (Turkish Bath) is a must!
